This painting was the final piece for my IB Art Year 2 project and is the largest-scale work I have created. As the title suggests, it represents a memory of my friends and me from 2015.
This piece pays tribute to Zhang Xiaogang, drawing inspiration from his use of color and symbolic elements. The blue and yellow tones echo his signature monochromatic palette, while the delicate red lines connecting the figures symbolize our ‘familial’ bond. Though not related by blood, our connection is just as strong, making us a family in every sense.
